The City of God in Philippi

There is an ancient Jewish prayer that says, “Thank God I am not a woman, a slave, or a pagan.”
But according to a different worldview, the Apostle Paul went to Philippi in Acts 16 and built a church with a woman named Lydia, a slave girl and a jailer who was a converted pagan. Welcome to the City of God the Church within the City of Man Philippi!

Augustin taught in the 5th Century that all Christians live in two cities: the City of Man & the City of God. Let’s make sure that the City of God is transforming the City of Man. Let’s make sure that our Church-city is an outpost of God’s kingdom, bringing the dominion of the King of Kings, the Lord Jesus to bear upon the culture and society in which we live. And lets help other churches succeed in this endeavor, world-wide. And thereby, all the nations will be discipled and the Great Commission fulfilled and God’s glory will fill the earth.
