Although I love American politics, I hadn’t really been enthusiastic about our presidential candidates this time. I had made up my mind a while back about who I will vote for in this election, and the Saddleback forum really helped me feel more confident about my choice.
Last Friday I was surprised and impressed with McCain’s VP pick; it was a brilliant political choice. Just consider this: both tickets are historical; this election will be one of the most famous in American history no matter who wins!
THEN… then the media viciously attacked Sarah Palin in ways that caused my blood-pressure to hit the boiling point. What CNN and MSNBC and online sites are saying about Sarah Palin’s pregnant daughter and Sarah Palin’s motherhood is more than appalling to me. This type of talk about someone is specifically condemned in the Bible as a sin. It is not just tough political speech; it is evil.
I AM NOW AN ANGRY VOTER.
In the last few days, I have heard the most evil forms of character assassination, and lies, and gossip that has ever entered into American Presidential politics. And it is apparent that the hate-machine has only just cranked up.
I am now looking forward to pulling the lever for the McCain/Palin ticket. I’m charged up! I am not just against one candidate; I am for someone in this election.
Thanks, media, for finally showing your true vitriol towards conservatives, Christians, and true women. You have made this the most exciting election I have ever witnessed in my life so far. Finally… American politics has become interesting again!!

That makes two of us!!!!
My wife and I are right there with you.
So is my sister and her family.
Biased news reports are the norm this election. How many homes McCain has, Teen pregnancy –
Let’s stick to the task at hand CNN.
Hey , I’m a Canadian and I’m charged up for you. If you think the choices you have for the conservative vote are lacking in the US , my poor country is in a downward spiral. I have always liked McCain and respect him . It will be an interesting run till November.
If any one wants to make charges, at least be brave enough to not do so anonymously. Cheap shots will be deleted.
what this shows is the reality of the feminist and leftist movement. they are not interested in seeing women suceed, they are interested in seeing leftist women assume power so they can force through social engineering policies of the left. It makes it kind of hard to remember that the liberals are supposed to be the accepting and compassionate ones, and that conservatives are evil and judgmental. Or maybe that was a lie all along.
I’m with you! Those horrible Republicans and conservatives and Dobsonites have gone too far in condemning Lynne Spears’ ability as a mother. Moreover, I feel sorry for the poor teenager involved, Jamie Lynn. Does anyone care for her? Why are people like Dobson and others using her as a political football to further their ideology?
When was Lynn Spears running for political office? When was Dobson running for political office? Does Lynn Spears care for her? After seeing what happened to one child why would a parent continue to promote the Hollywood lifestyle on their other kid? What did Dobson say about Jamie Spears?
Jamie Spears had (has?) a huge following on her popular TV show to young girls. She was personally in a high place of influence for these young girls. Bristol did not have this influence. She possibly would have hardly been mentioned had people not charged Sarah Palin’s recent child with actually being her daughter’s child.
It’s true today that it can be tough to see the difference between Hollywood and D.C., but it seems pretty clear in this situation.
I’m so confused. I have read Jason’s post 4 times now and I can’t find Lynn Spears mentioned in there once.
Oversight is known for getting confused. He must be a Hebrew for he lives up to his name. (joking)
We must remember that the only way to defeat evil is with the truth. Say; say it loud; say it often.
some random thoughts that have been occurring to me today and i will try very hard to make this as short as possible.
like everyone else on our side of the political fence, i have been transfixed first by the selection and, next, treatment of sarah palin by the media. being old as dirt has one small advantage; i can remember a lot of political campaigns of all kinds and i have never seen anything even remotely resembling this one. palin’s treatment has been extraordinary by any standard and i have spent a long time trying to figure out what is causing it. then, when i heard about her keynote speech tonight it started coming together for me.
there are four speakers scheduled tonight. at 9 pm we have huckabee and romney in some order and then, at 10 pm, we have guilliani followed by palin. in other words, if this was a baseball game, we have three good hitters followed by the star who is supposed to hit a home run. all day long i have been hoping that palin would hit that grand slam homer that we all i think have been hoping for. that’s when i started to realize that there is no possible earthly explanation for what’s been going on this week in the media’s treatment of palin. i have come to believe that this is really a huge piece of that spiritual warfare we all believe in but sometimes rarely recognize.
so, my request is for all of us to heartily cheer her on when she speaks tonight, as i surely plan on doing. first, though, i would ask you to lift her up in prayer before the father. i think that she really needs it right now. i would also ask you to lift up in prayer the other three hitters in the lineup. they need to “get on base”, so to speak and let palin’s home run bring it all home for the win. i’m not very poetic but i believe there’s a lot at stake in tonight’s action; more than we might realize in the heat of the moment.
anyhow, all i’m really asking is for you to join me in praying, first for romney, huckabee and guilliani and then for palin, herself.
