Did you see where #1 and #2 went down tonight? ESPN is reporting that their BCS expert, Brad Edwards, is predicting an Ohio State vs. LSU National title game! That is unbelievable.
We will have to wait until 7pm CST tomorrow for the official selection show. I have seen a report on College Football News that they are predicting Georgia instead of LSU. That would be a shame. You should have to at least when the conference.
Geaux Tigers!
Georgia didn’t even win their division.
And for some irony… would it not be great for LSU to go to the title game ranked #2 and redeem the #2 position that has fallen all year long.
As an Alumnus of the University of Pittsburgh…
YOU ARE WELCOME!!!
From all I am hearing and reading, it will be a very close call for #2 in the BCS this week. A lot depends on where LSU, USC, and Oklahoma wind up in all the human polls. Most, however, are saying LSU will have the biggest argument if they are left out.
Thank you, Pittsburgh!!
This has to be the craziest college football season ever. I’m ready to go for #1 one more time this year.
GEAUX TIGERS!!
Has any team ever possessed the #1 spot three different times in one season?
I have to say, hats off to LSU. You should not have won this game. Tennessee should have won by at least a touchdown with their late defense and offensive opportunities. But you won the game, like a champion is supposed to.
LSU, you better show up and represent the conference just like Florida did last year. You’ve got a whole month. Heal and practice, and when January rolls around, skewer the poor fools who dared show up to play an SEC champ.
And maybe, just maybe, when Fulmer and Cutcliffe finish rebuilding my Vols, we can show up and return the favor and make it 3 teams to prove SEC football is king.
If you want a truly poetic finish to the season, howabout LSU defeating Ohio St for the championship in triple overtime?
Les could win one for both LSU and Michigan!
I’m a Georgia fan, and rarely root for LSU.
However, LSU should be in the title game against Ohio State. If you don’t win the conference, you shouldn’t play for the national championship.
BTW – I will pull for LSU to win the championship because we all know the SEC is king of the conferences.
Eric
Jason,
LSU deserves it. Tennessee beat themselves last night. If it wasn’t for two thrown interceptions, there would be another team talking about New Orleans today.
Enjoy your victory.
Congratulations! It’s official now. Go kick some Ohio State tail for the SEC!
GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!
This is my last semester at LSU and I must say that this is a great way to go out. I just hope we beat Ohio state like we did Virginia Tech earlier this year–by 41!
T-I-G-E-R-S Tigers!
GEAUX TIGERS!!!
Just amazing that a team can lose to an unranked team at the end of the season and jump 5 spots over teams that did not lose and play for the national title. The bcs is such a joke.
I’m one Gator fan who is pulling for LSU to shame the Buckeyes and for UGA to demolish the Rainbow Warriors (especially after June Jones’ foolish comments regarding my beloved Tebow). And of course, I’ll be cheering for Kentucky over the hated Noles, the fighting Crooms over the Golden Knights, the Tide over the Buffs, the Tigers over those other Tigers, the Vols over the Badgers, and the Hogs over Mizzou (and of course, UF over Meatchicken). Here’s pulling for the SEC to assert its dominance over the college football world once again!
Dave
Dang, one stupid play by our punt-return guy (who decided he wanted to catch a punt nursing a lead deep in the 4th Q INSIDE HIS OWN FRIGGIN 10 instead of letting it bounce) in the Colorado game jets Oklahoma out of contention. Argh.
If OU played in their bowl like they played against Mizzou, they’d splatter anyone by 14. Alas, you can’t always play a perfect game.
I think the BCS is stoopid but I do think that LSU vs the Luckeyes is the right call. Best of luck to whoever; I’ll try to be interested…
