No one who plays is the SEC was shocked today by LSU’s loss.
James Carville, a political consultant and commentator and LSU fan, has a unique take on the Bowl Championship Series.
“The BCS is like the electoral college — a convoluted way to pick a winner,” Carville told Sports Illustrated. “The electoral college was a bad idea thought up by great men trying to do a noble thing. The BCS is a stupid idea thought up by intellectual midgets trying to protect greedy college presidents.” “My dream scenario for the BCS is that California and Boston College go undefeated while LSU has a one-point loss. The computers put Cal and BC in the national championship game in New Orleans. A slew of enraged Cajuns descend on the city and hang the BCS establishment in Jackson Square. A Louisiana jury, still searching for justice, awards the Cajun mob $500 million in civil damages.”

C’mon Jason! Take it like a man! Don’t shift to Stanford or compare them to Kentucky . . .
Two weeks and Bama will Sabanate LSU.
But seriously, every game I attended were we (Bama) played LSU, I have to say that they were the craziest and most obnoxious fans I have ever seen.
Today’s game was a great game to watch, and another reason why the SEC is the bet conference in college football.
Yet another reason to love Timmy Brister.
Also, I would like to add that the electoral college is not a bad idea. A Southern boy should know better than that.
Now the BCS system, that is not nearly so noble nor did it contain the foresight of the electoral college.
Woo hoo!
I was off by 3. I predicted a UK victory by 3.

At least it wasn’t stanford? After failing to put the game away, then letting an inferior team stretch you to the limit and beat you, the best you can say is at least it wasn’t stanford?
You know Jason, if LSU is so much better than USC, you should probably at some point stop comparing them.
Bottom line is that LSU cannot handle an AP No. 1 spot.
what they all said.
If your going to pimp LSU all the time and whine about all the slights they have suffered, you really should just man up and say grats to Kantuck and leave it at that.
OK, I will take it back. New title: Hey, It wasn’t the Beavers.
All SEC smack is allowed. It is what I love about our conference. We earn our smackability.
This from a Sooner fan: the SEC is the toughest conference in football.
Y’all should drop your championship game.
And sorry, it left a sweet taste in my mouth to see the Bayou Bengalz go down. Down.
Also, I would like to add that the electoral college is not a bad idea. A Southern boy should know better than that.
Well we all know why Carville thinks the electoral college is a bad idea.
Though I agree with his thoughts on the BCS…
So the BCS is out. LSU is in at #4 behind Ohio, South Florida and Boston College. I figure SF and BC will stumble. But Ohio has a schedule that is as weak as OU so we will probably see them in NO.
Jason,
As a USC fan I can except your dig “Hey, It wasn’t Stanford,” but to invoke that left wing commie/liberal James Carville? Come on Jason, you might be a cajun but your aren’t stupid!
I don’t understand why LSU fans hate the BCS. It is only because of the BCS that LSU even got their last NC trophy. The BCS was bound to crown them.
LSU fan should be thankful the system exists.
Speaking of BCS computers: The computers love the SEC. On average, they have LSU ranked second, South Carolina third and Kentucky fourth.

Hey, Jason. You might enjoy the latest podcast from ESPNRadio.com’s Colin Cowherd. He still considers LSU #1. You can listen to it here. (Just scroll down to the October 15 episode.)
