evil.
It grieves me that he was the guest at this years Hillsong Conference. He is not just spreading false teaching to the US but to Australia as well.
Jason, are they really “good, solid Christian people” that fall prey to these false preachers and their false gospels? Or are they merely “…people (whom) will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions,…” as Paul writes to Timothy in his second epistle chapter four, verse three?
Does not the Holy Spirit, by the process of sanctification steer the true beleiver from false doctrine like this?
TD Jakes is mild compared to Mike Murdock
I wonder if the music was meant to honor him or was the intention to deride?
TD Jakes is a master. He makes people actually feel happy about being fleeced.
Tax-raising politicians should take some lessons.

Sad. Very sad.
JR
Jakes was sad.
Hinn is scary.
Christian WWF or are they hitting them with Tazers?
JR
Hinn just scares the bejeezes out of me. Every night I ask my wife to look under the bed to make sure Hinn will not haunt my dreams.
Because MANY will follow their destructive ways and among the leaders of the many are all of the Word of Faith Movement. If the blind leads the blind BOTH will fall into a ditch.
And this surprises you. I have heard as bad if not worse in some of our evangelical pulpits. We need to pray for him that God will save him.

A. Illumination is like regeneration. It doesn’t trasmit truth directly to us, rather it keeps us teachable. It doesn’t remove the noetic effects of sin on our understanding or discernment.
B. So what can happen is either:
1. The deceived person can want to be deceived because of corruption in his heart, because he is a corrupt person.
2. The deceived person can be duped because the enemy actually takes advantage of his teachability. Teachability doesn’t guarantee a person will be led the right way.
3. In the case of these men, they are preying often on the poor in their communities. The poor go to them because they desire to be free of their poverty. The desire for freedom is a good thing. The enemy takes advantage of it.
4. I know some good people that have come out of the WoF movement. They’ve often felt betrayed by their leaders, and they often struggle through a period of anger, but when they are finally introduced to the truth, they run toward it.
5. So, this sort of deception can also be a means to lead the righteous into the valley for a time only to raise them up and out of it.
just reach in and snatch something, people.
My goodness!!!
I’m going to have to look up Mike Murdock because I didn’t know it got worse than this.
I was flipping through channels today and noticed that TBN was having a telethon. Preachers, to use the term loosely, were literaly selling blessings and apparently you could purchase a 1000 fold annointing by giving right then. Didn’t anyone pay attention when indulgences were being sold? It all makes me very sad that so many support faithfully the beggars on this network who have nothing to offer of ant substance. And do they not see the hypocrisy of asking for money while wearing designer suits, draped in jewelry, and seated on literal golden thrones?! Ah, but God has a remnant.
I have indeed known (and know) good Christians who fall prey to false teachers. There are many reasons, many of which we are warned about in Scripture. It is just a sad fact that there is an ongoing attack against God’s people by money-hungry people who wish to profit off of Christianity.
And might I add that this is also patently racist. Take a look at who is sitting in the majority of the audience on these TBN shows. It’s the African-American Christians, not the little old white ladies showing up these days. The greatest examples of racism I can find in American “evangelicalism” (and I’m playing really loosely here with that term), is that group of people. My hope and prayer is that there will be a great movement of God among the African-American preachers who will rise up and confront men like Jakes and rebuke him publicly.
“We know you can shout, now let’s see if you can pledge.” -Crouch in the 1st vid.
Yup, that’s the heart of it.
And TD Jakes has MASTERED personal charisma. It’s amazing.
To genembridges (and whoever else is interested): I, along with many others who are of the reformed faith do speak out against Jakes, Creflo, White and the rest. If you go to http://www.pulpit-pimps.org you will see how many brothers in the reformed faith you truly have. There has always been a faithful remnant of God in the black community as well as any other ethnic group who have not bowed down to the worship of money or man made idols. Furthermore, its not as racist as you might think, it is more socio-economical. Poor people come in all shades and Deception knows no color. Just look at who attends the Hinn crusades, Oral Roberts University, Rhema Institute or the Crystal Cathedral. Nevertheless, God will call and deliver whomsoever HE will regardless of the background.
