The audio of “Why Every Self-respecting Calvinist is a Premillenialist” is available for $2 here at Shepherds Conference dot org. It is Session 1 – John MacArthur.
Sadly or most ironically, is that Dr. MacArthur didn’t “get Israel right” and thus doesn’t understand anything that Amillenarians are saying. Just count how many times that Dr. MacArthur admits that he believes that God’s election and salvific promises are for “ethnic Israel” as opposed to what theologians refer to as “spiritual Israel” which is anyone who is in Christ by faith alone based on the theology of Jesus, Paul, Peter and James.
Jesus said to the Jewish scribes and Pharisees, “I know that you are offspring of Abraham… If you were Abraham’s children, you would be doing what Abraham did… You are of your father the devil.” (John
Jesus said to the Jews, “I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one Shepherd. …you [Jews] do not believe because you are not part of my flock.” (John 10)
Paul said, “But it is not as though the word of God has failed.” — which is what Dr. MacArthur falsely claims that Amillenialism asserts. “For not all who are descended from Israel belong to Israel,” explains Paul, “and not all are children of Abraham because they are his offspring… This means that it is not the children of the flesh who are the children of God, but the children of the promise are counted as offspring.”
Paul explained further the promise given to Abraham to Jews and Gentiles in Galatia, “Now the promises were made to Abraham and to his offspring. It does not say, “And to offspring,” referring to many, but referring to one, “And to your offspring,” who is Christ. … for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek… for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s offspring, heirs according to promise.” (Galatians 3)
Peter said to Cornelius after receiving vision from God, “Truly I understand that God shows no partiality, but in every nation anyone who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him. …To Christ all the prophets bear witness that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.” And the Spirit poured out upon the Gentiles. And Peter said, “If then God gave the same gift to them as he gave to us when we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could stand in God’s way? … [God] made no distinction between us and them… we believe that we will be saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, just as they will.” (Acts 10 – Acts 11 – Acts 15)
James said to the Apostles and elders in Jerusalem, “…the prophets agree, just as it is written, ‘I will rebuild the tent of David that has fallen… that the remnant of mankind may seek the Lord, and all the Gentiles who are called by my name…” (Acts 15)

Thank you. These were some of the passages that convinced me that Dispensationalism has some gaping holes in its understanding of Israel and the Church. Especially Galatians 3.

Anyone having problems downloading the Sessions? I have been trying since last night. I run Firefox, disabled Norton, tried everything but I keep getting “An Error Has Occurred”. The page only loads to half way then the message. Any thoughts what is going on? The monies has already been withdrawn from my account so it not a payment issue. Thanks for your help.
I just listened to Dr. MacArthur’s, uh, rant. I have a lot of time for this often excellent Bible teacher (the “two sons” message last year was amazing), but he really blew it here. The sad thing is that he wouldn’t admit that he blew it.
The message would be useful in a logic class, however. There are a lot of huge holes there.
Jason,
The problem with your interpretation is that you are being too scriptual. You can’t just compare scripture with scripture like that. You have to use charts or at least some study notes.
Galatians 6:16, “The Israel of God” (talks about the Greek too).

Enjoy. : )
