I believe several people who frequent the Good Thoughts blog would find this picture offensive… I personally don’t, however.
Correct or Continuist….how about a nice little substitution, Arrogant and Possibly (but unlikely) Mistaken?.
Adrian Warnock’s post is hardly representative of the full strength Pentecostal defense of the continuation of gifts, (and frankly it wasn’t intended to be). And the attack by the pyros on the gifts is deliberatly designed to mis-direct the argument.
Piper writes well on the subject. Just because there are some crackpots who claim they are speaking in tongues…does not mean that they are. There are counterfeit tongues. There are false-prophecies…this does not mean that they are ALL counterfeit or false.
But I’ve seen a lot of bad arguments in the last couple weeks…this is simply more of the same.
Oh, and disabling commenting is also poor form, but at least you’re not as bad as some who just delete arguments…
Oh, and that picture is nasty.
Cleary, based on this picture alone, the gift of tongues is still being bestowed.

and all Dan did was respond to Adrian who had attempted to refute Dan’s first post. It wasn’t intended as a full discourse of the defense against continuationism. Take it up with Dan.
