Does anyone know what happened to www.baptistfire.com? I have been trying to go there for semi-weekly dose of hyperbole, sarcasm, innuendo, fabrication, and eisogesis and I the site doesn’t seem to be working. I am not dissappointed, but I am curious. Is it possible that the Strangebaptistfire guys put them out of business in just a few short weeks? Who knows.

the problem is that “baptist” and “fire” or oxymorons. Either the baptist will squash out the fire or the fire will consume the baptist.
Just my two cents!
hehe
It’s been gone for quite a while.
Scott,
From what we can recall at SBF, BaptistFire made their exit on Thursday, May 11, 2006. To this day, I don’t think anyone really knows why they removed their website. However, I do not find it coincidental that their exit came only 11 days after the startup of SBF, especially when we made it clear that we were going to address every article, book review, thread in their forum, etc. My guess is that they did not want to make their stuff available to us or anyone else. However, we are not disappointed they are gone nor are we rejoicing. I personally know of three churches in AL that either split or kicked out their pastor largely in part due to BaptistFire. My heart grieves to think of the damage these anonymous folks have done. I must say that the blank white screen is doing more for the glory of God than anything which existed before.
By the way, appreciate the comments of late. It’s good to see you around.
I must concur soon after the debut of Strange Baptist Fire the “Baptist Fire” website pulled a disappearing act.
Couldn’t take the heat so they got out of the kitchen. Or as my mother used to say good riddance to bad rubbish.
I think that the disappearance could be attibuted in part to the fine dectective work of Derick Dickens (Dickens Family Ministries blog). Derick did research and discovered what he beleived to be the names of two possible operators of Baptist Fire. While he did not make the names public, he did disclose the name of the city in which the suspects resided. It was shorty thereafter that the site dissappeared.
