Those that know me well pick on me about my somewhat cynical attitude and the conspiracy theories that it produces. So IN FUN I have a conspiracy theory for us.
Mark Dever lost the run for 1st VP of the SBC. When the first vote was taken Dr. Dever had the most votes, but only by a slight margin. In a runoff vote that was done when everyone was at dinner that night he lost by 70 or so votes. I think somewhere in the not so hallowed halls of the Greensboro Convention Center was a conspiracy to keep Dever from being VP. They were scared. Not fearful of Dr. Dever, but of some psycho Calvinist blogger putting a hit out on Dr. Page so that a Calvinist could move up to President.

You know that could be, that thought has crossed my mind also.
I think it was the one armed man who was seen flying his spaceship by the grassy knoll. =)
Dever for President! of the U.S.A
Coming from one who is probably more cynical than yourself, yet having been at the convention, there was no conspiracy this time. I appreciated the fact that Bobby Welch went to great lengths to talk about how the elections would proceed. He stated up-front that, if there were to be a run-off, he would break at the first convenient time and immediately call for the run-off vote. Even knowing that I, along with several others, was not there when the run-off for 1VP took place. Dang! We might have put Dever over the top. [actually there weren't that many in our group.]
